Local stations are in Zone 4 with New Eltham on a different train line to Falconwood. New Eltham is an easier walk and closer. Key info is summarised in the table below.

Walking from New Eltham station
The walk along Avery Hill Road to campus takes around 15 minutes. There is a shortcut via Sparrows Farm shown in this . You will need to have a university ID card to operate the rear entrance gate or call Security for a code on the number provided.

- There are cycle paths in Avery Hill Park which can make useful short cuts avoiding busy roads.
Cycle Parking
- There is parking for 136 bikes in 10 covered cycle shelters spread across the campus including the halls of residence.
- There is an additional cycle shelter at Sparrows Farm for 8 bikes.
- Bicycles are left at your risk. We do not accept liability, for any loss, destruction, damage or theft of cycles. We recommend you purchase a good quality 'D'-lock.
Facilities for cyclists

- The walk from the centre of Southwood Site to Sparrows Farm is 0.4 miles and takes about 8 minutes. You will need a Greenwich Gateway card to access the back gate adjacent to the sports pitches or call the Security Gatehouse on the number provided for an access code.
- Eltham High Street is 1.3 miles from campus taking about 25 minutes via Avery Hill Park.

The car parks are pay and display 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. No charge during bank holidays or Christmas closure.

You can pay at the machine in coins (no change given), or by using the app quoting location code 99907. Tickets bought at Southwood Site are valid at Sparrows Farm and vice versa. The terms and conditions are displayed on signage throughout the car parks. Parking Charge Notices are issued to vehicles parked in contravention of these.
Permits
Some car park users qualify for a permit as an alternative to pay and display. All permits are electronic, apply here for a permit.

Visitor parking
If you are a visitor to the campus or a contractor please follow the guidance above for pay and display. Guest parking must be arranged with the university host. Staff visiting from other campuses can book visitor parking using the Staff permits for Greenwich and Medway Campus are accepted at Avery Hill. All bookings are recharged to the relevant department at 拢3 per day.
Alternatively scratch cards for guest parking can be purchased by departments from Transport, cost 拢30 for a book of 10.
Motorbikes and scooters
You do not need to pay to park a motorbike or scooter but you must use one of the motorcycle parking areas. These are located next to the Gatehouse and behind the Bronte Building.
Off-campus parking
A Controlled Parking Zone operates just off campus between 11:00 and 13:00 weekdays. Only local resident permit holders can park during this period. Otherwise if you do park off the campus please do so with consideration for our neighbours and other members of the public. Please be aware that it is illegal to park across driveways.
