We transform the lives of students by providing an education that enables them to become creative and confident contributors to society.
Making a positive difference to people's lives
Welcome
to the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. We are dedicated to impactful research and inspirational learning that combines teaching with work placements.
Home to the Schools of Human Sciences, Health Sciences and Education, the Faculty has a strong focus on professional and workforce development, with long-established and extensive partnerships across a wide range of professional sectors. From social work to psychology, midwifery to mental health and early years to higher education, we are committed to delivering an academically challenging experience that provides a sound foundation for practice. That focus is backed by a research culture which addresses real-world issues and identifies interventions that will have a positive impact on peoples' lives.
Cross-professional collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and the Institute for Lifecourse Development brings all of our professions and disciplines together under one umbrella, to address the challenges people face at different points in their lives.
By harnessing those effective links between professionals, the Institute enables students, staff and partners to address societal problems though learning, research and practice.
Embedded in the community but with a clear global outlook, the Faculty offers a welcoming and supportive environment to students from a wide range of backgrounds, and at various stages of academic and professional development. We aim to transform the lives of our students by providing an education that enables them to become creative and confident contributors to society, along with the skills and knowledge needed to make a real difference to local and global communities.
