Our courses

We offer around 30 teacher education courses, including BA Hons and PGCE qualifications. At undergraduate level, you can study primary education, or a one-year lifelong learning professional certificate in education. Postgraduates can choose from a number of specialist PGCEs.

Current research includes the experiences and motivations of school mentors, imposter syndrome among newly qualified teachers, models of assessment in secondary science, and mastery in primary mathematics.

ILD | Institute for Lifecourse Development


The ILD is a key anchor resource hosted by the Faculty of Education, Health & Human Sciences. Professionals from related fields will work closely together with researchers and stakeholders from public, charitable and voluntary organisations. Together they will develop effective and economically sustainable lifecourse solutions and tackle the grand challenge agendas society faces.
